Fence Repairs We Handle
Storm & Wind Damage Fence Repair
Nebraska storm season is hard on fences. Straight-line winds, saturated ground, and falling limbs can take down a full run in a single afternoon. We assess what actually failed, reset or replace the damaged sections, and match the repair to your existing fence so it doesn’t read as a patch. If you’re filing an insurance claim, we can document the damage and itemize the estimate.
Common Causes: Straight-line wind • Fallen limbs • Saturated soil • Storm debris
Materials We Repair: Wood • Aluminum • Steel • Chain Link • Vinyl
Fence Post Replacement & Resetting
Most fence failures start at the post. Wood posts give way at the ground line where moisture collects, steel posts loosen when a footing cracks, and Omaha’s freeze-thaw cycle works posts out of plumb over several seasons. We pull and replace failed posts, set new footings, and re-hang the surrounding sections so the line runs straight again.
Common Causes: Ground-line rot • Cracked footings • Frost heave • Vehicle impact
What’s Involved: Post removal • New concrete footing • Re-hanging adjacent sections
Gate Repair & Realignment
A gate is the only part of your fence with moving parts, so it takes the most abuse and fails first. Sagging, dragging, and gates that no longer latch almost always trace back to a leaning gate post or worn hardware rather than the gate itself. We diagnose the real cause, realign the gate, replace hardware, and reinforce or reset the gate post so the fix holds.
Common Issues: Sagging or dragging • Won’t latch • Worn hinges • Leaning gate post
Hardware We Replace: Hinges • Latches • Drop rods • Gate wheels
Panel, Section & Picket Replacement
Not every repair calls for a new fence. When damage is limited to a few boards, panels, or rails, we replace only the affected material and blend it into the surrounding fence. On chain link, that includes re-stretching or replacing fabric, top rail, and tension bands rather than tearing out the whole run.
Common Repairs: Broken pickets • Damaged panels • Bent or cracked rails • Torn chain link fabric
Materials We Repair: Wood • Aluminum • Steel • Chain Link • Vinyl
Leaning & Sagging Fence Correction
A fence that has started to lean rarely straightens on its own, and every season it sits puts more load on the posts next to it. We determine whether the cause is the post, the footing, or the soil around it, then re-plumb and re-secure the run before the problem travels down the line and turns a section repair into a full replacement.
Common Causes: Failed footings • Soil movement • Undersized posts • Sustained wind load
What We Check: Post condition • Footing integrity • Grade • Drainage
Hardware & Component Repair
Small failures are worth catching early. Loose brackets, broken tension bands, missing post caps, and worn latches let water and movement into the rest of the fence, and what starts as a five-dollar part often becomes a post replacement a year later. We replace worn hardware with components matched to your existing fence system.
Common Repairs: Hinges & latches • Tension bands & bars • Post caps • Brackets & fasteners
Materials We Repair: Wood • Aluminum • Steel • Chain Link • Vinyl
Fence Materials We Repair
Advantage Fencing repairs wood, vinyl, aluminum, steel, and chain link fence throughout the Omaha metro. Because we install these same systems every week, we work from material that more closely matches what is already on your property, so a replaced post, panel, or picket lines up with the rest of your fence in height, profile, and finish.
Should I Repair or Replace My Fence?
It depends on how much life the fence has left, and that is not always obvious from the curb. It is the first thing we look at when we come out. Mike Paladino, our founder, has been building Omaha fences for decades. If you call us for a full replacement quote and he sees a fence with years left in it, he will tell you to repair it instead. If you call for a repair and the fence is far enough gone that you would be calling us again next season, he will tell you that too, and quote the replacement. He will usually ask how long you plan to stay in the home. A fence that needs to last two more years is a different decision than one that needs to last fifteen, and the right answer changes with it. The point is to spend your money where it actually helps. We would rather do a small repair now and earn the replacement when you genuinely need it than sell you a fence you did not need yet. Not sure which one you are looking at? Ask for an estimate and we will tell you straight.
